White Vienna Kohlrabi is an early variety and produces vibrant light-green bulbs with creamy white colored centers. This sweet tender vegetable grows above-ground round bulbs, that are perfect to eat when they get about 3 inches in diameter. The bulbs have a turnip-like flavor and the leaves are also delicious.
Sow this cool season crop in the springtime for an extended harvest. Direct sow 4-6 weeks before your last frost. Alternatively, start your seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before you last frost and transplant when they are large enough to handle. Ideal germination temperature is 45-80 degrees Fahrenheit.
