This bright red bulb onion has been around since 1873 and is a favorite in northern climates. The 4- to 5-inch bulbs develop a magnificent purple-red coloration that adds color and flavor to any dish. This bulb onion is one of the best red onions for long term storage.
Start seeds indoors 4-9 weeks before your last frost date. Ideal germination temperature is 50-85 degrees Fahrenheit. Transplant into your garden after 8-12 weeks, or 3 weeks after you last frost.
