The red bulbs of the Scarlet Bandit Bunching Onion become intensified with cold weather, harnessing its ability to overwinter. The bright colors of this beautiful variety will bring lovely color to any dish that calls for onions.
Ideal germination temperature is 68-75 degrees Fahrenheit. Sow seeds indoors and transplant outside when they are large enough to handle (about 4-6 inches tall), in the spring or fall. Alternatively, direct sow in the spring when the soil can be worked. Sow every 3-4 for weeks for a more continuous harvest throughout the season.
