50+ ‘Red Burgundy’ Okra Seeds

Abelmoschus esculentus

Non-GMO, Heirloom, Open-Pollinated

Red Burgundy Okra plants produce tender and delicious deep red pods. The plant is productive, making many pods 3 to 4-inches in length. A traditional hot weather vegetable, this plant requires full sun. The red of the stems and fruits contrast beautifully with the green leaves and when blooming this plant makes a delicate display of yellow and red flowers, that are also edible. This variety adds a nice touch of color to soup or stews, like gumbo!

Direct sow outside in a cold frame, 3-4 weeks before your last frost or when the soil has warmed to 65-70 degrees Fahrenheit. Alternatively, sow indoors 4 weeks before your last frost. Soaking seeds in warm or room temperature water overnight can help increase germination rate.
