Purple Top White Globe Turnips have been known to grow as big as baseballs while still maintaining excellent texture and are easily one of the best tasting turnip varieties available. This sweet and tender root crop adorns a pink to purplish crown atop the mostly white root. A great fall crop that matures in flavor with the winter cold.
Direct sow from early spring to late summer. The seeds can be started as early as 3 weeks before the last spring frost as seedlings can tolerate mild frost. Direct sow after the heat of the summer for your fall crop.
