Non-GMO, Heirloom, Open-Pollinated
This popular variety, Bloomsdale spinach, produces an abundance of leaves that are high in vitamins and minerals. The leaves are glossy, crinkled, and dark green. This variety is slow to bolt and can be planted in the spring and again in late summer for multiple crops. Easy to grow, with excellent rich, nutty flavor.
Direct sow in spring as soon as the soil can be worked. Alternatively, start seeds in peat pots and transplant into your garden when the soil can be worked. This seed grows best in cooler soils; ideal germination temperature is 45-75 degrees Fahrenheit. Sow every 7-10 days for a more continuous harvest throughout the season.
